The second
round of the Manx Trials Club Championship was held at Arrasey
Plantation in bright but cold conditions. Club Champion, Josh Brain, continued
his winning ways with another fine ride in the Expert class. The testing
section number 8 proved the most difficult for the experts, with Michael
Jackson losing half of his total marks there. Craig Norrey
put up some spirited attempts at this section producing some spectacular
crashes, but was unable to master it.
The Clubman
class was once again won by Neil Christian, but the ride of the day came from
Steve Collins onboard his Triumph Cub who found the conditions much to his
liking and showed a clean pair of heels to the rest of the chasing pack.
History
repeated itself in the Sportsman Class with a family double from Neil’s father,
Peter and also in the Twinshock and Youth Novice with
excellent rides from father and son, Jake and Adam Kelly.
In the
Pre-65 class, Colin Scarffe produced the lowest
scoring ride of the day losing only three marks over the tricky course. Runner
up, David Harding, was slightly off the pace after a costly five on the second
section of the day. In the Youth Intermediate class Brandon Bailey and Aaron Molyneux were nip and tuck all morning, with Brandon eventually
claiming the top spot.
Our thanks go to all of the observers who helped with the success of the event.
