Azzy Paints Manx Trials Club Pre 65
& Twin Shock trial Round 3
Axnfell Sunday 23 October 2011
A great turnout of 24 riders enjoyed good weather conditions on Saturday for the Azzy Paints sponsored Pre 65 and Twin shock trial, fortunately the heavy rain forecast did not materialize. The wet weather prior to the trial made the sections at Axnfell Plantation very slippery and challenging particularly section two an uphill, rocky climb and section three a muddy turn followed by a steep climb, taking most of the marks from the riders. Stephen Collins continues to dominate the Pre 65 class on the Premier route with a narrow margin of four marks from a determined Colin Scarffe. Juan Knight having the ride of the day took the twin shock honours on his Ossa riding the Premier route for a loss of just four marks from Graham Christian some twelve marks adrift. The battle of the Yamahas on the easier Clubman route went to Paul Doherty narrowly beating Andrew Sidebottom into second by just two marks. Thanks go to the landowners and observers.
