The eighth and final round of the Manx Trials Club Championship 2008 took place at Ballaugh Plantation in bright but cold conditions on Sunday morning.

Expert class winner, Barry Kinley, claimed the ride of the day dropping only 5 marks on the challenging sections. He was the only rider to clean the extremely tough section 7, observed by Buddy Yeardsley and Ian Brain, on all four visits. Jamie Teare had a fine ride to take second place on a borrowed Sherco, and Nigel Sharpe was not far away in third place.

Sam Ansermoz won the Clubman class on his new Gas Gas. Stephen Collins onboard his trusty Triumph Cub had a good ride to take second from Matt Mylchreest in third place.

Howard Sharkey took the Sportsman class in fine style with Mike Turner in second and newcomer Ed Duggan in third place.

The Twinshock and Pre-65 classes rode the easier route where Kevin Whiteway and Colin Scarffe were seen to dominate their respective classes.

Josh Brain produced a fine performance to take the Youth Expert class with the second best ride of the day.

In the Youth Inter, Joe Yeardsley rode extremely well on the adult Clubman sections to take the win from Ollie Megson who was onboard his Yamaha twinshock.

Mark Turner won the Youth Novice class from Juan Lace.

The Manx Trials Club would like to thank the landowners and tenants and all the staff at DAFF for their support throughout the year and also the observers, who have stood out in all weather conditions.
