Club Championship Round 7
Cronk Aashen, 26 October 2008
Round 7 of
the Manx Trials Club Championship took place on Sunday at Cronk Aashen. Torrential rain the previous day made for very
slippery conditions, sections one and seven over tree roots causing
considerable problems for the riders. The hill climb
at section eight proved very popular, drawing quite a crowd, especially when
overall winner Nigel Sharpe came back down quicker than he went up!
Damien Owen
came in second in the clubman class with Robbie Lace three marks adrift in
third. Dave Harding had an impressive ride in the sportsman class dropping just
one mark with Steven Teare beating Barry Teare to second place on most cleans. The sportsman twin
shock class was won by Kevin Whiteway with a loss of six marks whilst the
sportsman pre 65 class was won by Jim Davidson dropping just nine marks. School boy expert Ryan Corkill riding the clubman route had
a good ride with a loss of seventeen marks with intermediate school boy Ollie Megson on thirty-eight. Thanks go to land
owners and observers.
