The third
round of the Manx Trials Club Championship took place at Eairy Beg on Good
Friday in bright, sunny conditions. The four laps of 8 sections proved to be a
challenging course for all the entry except Josh Brain, who certainly had a
Good Friday and went round for clean in the Adult Expert class. Damian Owen
just pipped Sean Quaye for runner up spot after a close fought battle.
Robbie
Skillicorn took the Clubman win, Michael Cannan coming second, but in this hotly
contested class only 8 marks separated 2nd
to 5th places with Steve
Collins doing remarkably well on his Triumph Cub.
In the
Sportsman Class Richard Skillicorn just held off Steven Teare by one mark to
claim the top spot with comeback man, Dave Clucas, in third.
Jonathan
Kelly was a clear winner in the Twinshock class from Laxey plumber, Geoff
Griffiths, with Nigel Woods in third.
Proving
that they can ride the sections as well as set them out, Classic Weekend
organisers filled the podium in the Pre-65 class with committee members Colin
Scarffe and Roy Wilson taking first and second and Assistant Clerk of the
Course, Jim Davidson, taking third spot.
The Youth
Intermediate class Brandon Bailey and Aaron Molyneux battled it out, with
Brandon on fine form taking the win.
Youth
Novice winner, Adam Kelly, produced another family double, with rapidly improving,
Aaron Peniata second and Thomas Cairns third.
The club
would like to wish club members, Josh Brain, Damian Owen and Jack Faragher all
the best for their forthcoming trip to the highlands where they are competing in
the Scottish Six Days Trial.
Please note our next event is on Saturday afternoon at Booilshuggel, East Baldwin and is the First round of the Azzy Paints series 2011.
