| Manx Trials Club Championship 3rd Round |
Stoney Mountain 13 June 2010
Adult Expert: 1, Nigel Crellin one mark lost; 2, Josh Brain 10; 3, Nigel Sharp 29; 4, Wayne Wardell 35.
The third round of the Manx Trials Club Championship took place in the Old Stoney Mountain Quarry area on Sunday 13 June. The early rain made the no-stop rule sections tricky but when the rain cleared after the first hour the sections became more rideable.
Club Champion, Nigel Crellin, had a fine ride losing only one mark on the penultimate section of the last lap. Josh Brain also rode well, but two costly fives on the same section dropped him out of contention.
Ed Duggan won the Clubman class just 5 marks ahead of Saskia Baxter with Aleyn Taggart in third spot.
Ride of the Day came in the Twinshock class where Ballaragh man, Phil Ward, dropped only 5 marks to take the win onboard his Yamaha from Jake Kelly and Paul Ansermoz completing a Yamaha podium.
Committee member, Colin Scarffe was the winner in the Pre-65 class on his Triumph Cub, with Jim Davidson, who did well to complete the course after overcoming machine problems, in second.
Jordan Birchall had a great ride to take the Schoolboy Expert class win from Craig Norrey, with the rapidly improving Oliver Lace in third spot.
The Schoolboy Novice class was won by Juan Lace after a closely fought battle with Aaron Molyneux.
Thanks go to the observers for their assistance especially in view of the inclement weather.
The fourth round of the Manx Trials Club Championship will be held on Sunday 1 August. Please check the Club website www.ManxTrials.com for further details nearer the time.
