Due
to the overwhelming number of entries received last year the Committee have
decided that if the event is over-subscribed a ballot shall be conducted after the closing date.
Successful entrants will be contacted at the close of the ballot and a reserve
list will also be compiled.

Manx Classic Weekend Trial

Entries must be on the official form or photocopy thereof and accompanied by the fee of £30.00. The entry is limited to 180 riders, comprising 140 Pre-65 machines and a maximum of 40 Twinshock modern.
The
organisers reserve the right to allocate a number of entries at their
discretion. Should the event be over-subscribed all other entries will be
selected by ballot.
1)
VENUE:
The start will be at the TT Grandstand at 8.30am on Saturday and 8.00am on
Sunday. Two twinshock riders will leave per minute until that class is complete
then one pre-65 rider per minute. The
running order will be reversed on the second day. The Twinshock event will be
limited to 40 riders and will run ahead of the field on both days. There will be
30 minutes less time allowed than the Pre-65 event.
2) SIGNING ON AND OFF:
Please sign on with the Event Secretary at the Hilton Hotel/Casino, Central
Promenade,
Signing off will be after the last section on each day.
This will be clearly marked. If
you retire at any time during the event you MUST sign off by telephoning Trial
HQ. This telephone number will be on
the route cards issued at signing on.

ROUTE:
The route is one lap of approx 45 miles on Saturday and one lap of a different
route but similar distance on Sunday. Route
cards will be issued at signing on and the route will be clearly marked by arrow
cards.
4)
CLASSES:
Please make sure your machine is suitable for the class you have entered and is
in keeping with the spirit of the event. Machines
with disc brakes and/or hydraulic controls will not be permitted to start. Riders
under 35 years of age are welcome but are eligible for classes ( i ) and ( j )
only.
5)
TIME:
Observers may penalise competitors who do not attempt a section in a timely
manner when called upon to do so. Please
be aware that the sections will be closed by the route closing marshal following
the field on an enduro machine. If
he is forced to over take you, closed or missed sections will be penalised at 10
marks per section. There will be a timecheck at the end of each day.
Lateness will be penalised at one mark per minute at each time control up
to a maximum of 30 minutes after which a further penalty of 50 marks will be
incurred.
6)
SECTIONS:
RED on right, BLUE on left. The Clubman deviations GREEN and WHITE. All rigid
classes will ride the Clubman route.
7)
MARKING:
A competitor will be deemed to be in an observed section from the time his front
wheel reaches the Start card until his front wheel has cleared the Ends card.
This is a no stop trial and marks will be lost as follows:-
For touching
the ground or leaning on an obstacle with any part of the body:
1 mark
For touching (as above) twice:
2 marks
For touching (as above) more than twice:
3 marks
For failure (if the front wheel ceases forward motion in the section):
5 marks
For failure to attempt a section when called upon to do so by the observer:
5 marks
No penalty for touching tape or marker
flags (however if a tape is crossed or broken or boundary markers are dislodged
by machine or person, this is a 5) Ties
will be decided by the “Most Cleans” method.
8)
RIDING NUMBERS:
Must be clearly displayed on the front and sides of your machine
in white numbers at least four inches high on a black background.
This will be strictly adhered to and checked at machine examining.
This is your responsibility as riding numbers will not be supplied.
9)
HELMETS MUST BE WORN: no helmet-no start.
10)
PLEASE consider other road and track users, give
way to horses and hikers and close all gates.
11)
PROVISIONAL RESULTS: Provisional results of the
first day will be available on Sunday morning at the start.
12)
AWARDS:
All awards will be presented at the awards presentation on Sunday evening at the
Hilton Hotel and Casino, Central Promenade at 9.30pm.
Food is available at the Hilton Restaurant and Swing Easy Bar from early
evening if you wish to eat before the presentation.
